LyricDrive is a companion app for Spotify and Apple Music. It displays information about the music you are playing and synchronized lyrics when available, on iPhone and Apple CarPlay.
LyricDrive connects to Spotify using Spotify’s official authentication and SDK. It may access the current song title, artist, album, artwork, playback position, and playback state to follow your music. LyricDrive does not request or store your Spotify password. Spotify authorization and session data needed to reconnect is stored locally on your device using Apple’s Keychain.
If you choose Apple Music, iOS asks for your permission before LyricDrive can access Apple Music. With that permission, LyricDrive reads the song currently playing in the Music app — title, artist, album, artwork, duration, playback position, and playback state — and can send play, pause, and skip commands that you request. It may also ask Apple Music for a song’s artwork. LyricDrive does not change your library or playlists. You can turn this access off at any time in the iOS Settings app under LyricDrive.
To find lyrics, LyricDrive may send track information such as title, artist, album, and duration to third-party lyrics services, including LRCLIB and lyrics.ovh. These services have their own privacy policies. Lyrics availability varies by song.
LyricDrive does not require a LyricDrive account or operate a backend that stores your listening history. It does not use advertising or analytics SDKs, and it does not sell personal information.
