Pixel Arcadia Privacy Policy
1. Overview
Pixel Arcadia is a single-player puzzle game for iPhone. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean the developer of Pixel Arcadia, the seller shown on the app’s App Store listing.
In short:
- Pixel Arcadia has no accounts or sign-up. It never asks for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or location permission.
- Your progress, coins, items and settings are saved on your device.
- We use a small number of service providers to run the game: Google AdMob (ads), PostHog (anonymous gameplay analytics), RevenueCat and Apple (in-app purchases), Apple Game Center (optional leaderboards and achievements) and Expo (app updates). They receive some technical information, described below.
- The app requests non-personalized ads and does not ask for permission to track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
- We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information we process
Pixel Arcadia itself does not ask you to provide personal information. When you play, the app and its service providers process the following:
- Game data on your device: progress, coins, items, hearts, settings and similar save data (see section 3).
- Gameplay and app-usage events: for example, that a level was started or completed, sent with a random anonymous identifier (see section 4).
- Technical and device information: such as app version, operating system version, device type and screen size, plus the IP address that every internet connection reveals.
- Advertising information handled by Google, such as ad requests, ad views and taps, and device and app identifiers (see section 5).
- Purchase information handled by Apple and RevenueCat, such as which product you bought and the transaction record (see section 6). We never receive your payment card details.
- Game Center information, only if you use Game Center (see section 7).
We use this information to run the game and its features, show ads and deliver rewards, process and restore purchases, prevent fraud and abuse, fix problems, and understand how the game is played so we can improve it.
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on these legal bases:
- Performance of our contract with you: providing the game, purchases and rewards.
- Our legitimate interests: running and improving a free, ad-supported game; measuring ads; security and fraud prevention.
- Your consent: wherever the law requires it.
3. Information stored on your device
Pixel Arcadia saves its game state in the app’s private storage on your device. It includes:
- Campaign progress: the highest level you have unlocked, and which tutorials you have completed.
- Economy: your coin balance, item inventory (Undo, Extra Slot, Bomb), and which levels have already paid their first-clear reward.
- Hearts: your heart count and the timing used to refill hearts.
- Settings: your Color Assist preference.
- Purchases: whether you own Remove Ads (cached so it works offline), and a list of purchase transaction identifiers the app has already processed. That list makes sure each purchase is rewarded exactly once.
- Ad pacing: counters used to space out ads.
- Analytics bookkeeping: counters such as level attempts, used to avoid sending duplicate analytics events.
- Game Center: if you use Game Center, a record of which scores and achievements were already sent, stored under your Game Center player identifier.
The analytics, purchase and update services described below also keep small technical records on your device, such as their own random identifiers and queued events. This information stays on your device, and deleting the app removes it. It may also be included in your device backups, such as iCloud Backup, depending on your settings. Pixel Arcadia does not back up or sync your game progress to our own servers.
4. Analytics
We use PostHog (PostHog Cloud, US region) to understand how the game is played: for example, which levels players find difficult and whether features like hearts and items work well.
What is sent:
- A defined set of gameplay events: app opened; level started, completed, failed, abandoned or retried; items used; hearts spent, refilled or earned; ad placements shown, skipped or rewarded; and store activity such as a purchase being viewed, started, cancelled, failed or completed, and purchases being restored.
- Details about those events, such as level numbers, your highest completed level, whether you own Remove Ads, and for purchases the product and its displayed price.
- Basic app and device information: app version and build, platform and operating system version, device type and screen size.
Events are linked to a random anonymous identifier created by the analytics software on your device. We do not link this identifier to your name, email, Apple ID, Game Center name or any other account.
What we do not collect through analytics:
- your name or email address
- your Game Center name
- advertising identifiers
- precise location
- Apple or RevenueCat transaction and customer identifiers
Session replay, screen recording, touch recording, automatic screen tracking and automatic crash capture are all turned off.
The app asks PostHog not to look up an approximate location from your IP address. As with any internet service, PostHog receives your IP address when events are sent. Analytics never affects gameplay: if it is unavailable, the game works normally.
5. Advertising
Pixel Arcadia is free to play and supported by ads served by Google AdMob, using the Google Mobile Ads SDK.
- Interstitial ads may appear between levels, at most after every third level you complete for the first time. They never appear in the middle of a level or right after a failed level.
- Rewarded ads are always optional. You can choose to watch one to earn a heart or to retry a level when you are out of hearts. You receive the reward only after the ad confirms it was watched.
- Remove Ads, a one-time purchase, turns off interstitial ads. Optional rewarded ads remain available if you want them.
To deliver ads, Google may process information such as:
- your IP address, which can indicate an approximate location
- device and app information, and device or app identifiers
- the ads you see and interact with
- diagnostic and performance data
Google uses this for ad delivery, measurement and reporting, frequency limits, and fraud and abuse prevention.
Pixel Arcadia is currently set up to request non-personalized ads. These are ads that are not based on your past behavior across other apps and websites. The app does not ask for Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission, so it does not access your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA).
When Google determines that a consent message is required, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app presents Google's consent form before requesting ads. Ads remain unavailable unless Google's consent SDK says they can be requested. When Google requires a way to revisit your choices, Settings shows Ad Privacy Choices.
Google’s handling of this information is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
6. In-app purchases
Pixel Arcadia offers optional purchases:
- coin packs
- a Starter Pack and a Booster Pack, which contain coins and/or items
- Remove Ads
Apple processes all payments through the App Store. We never receive or store your payment card or billing details.
We use RevenueCat to support purchases: to check which products are available and their prices, confirm purchases with Apple, determine whether you own Remove Ads, and restore purchases. To do this, RevenueCat receives purchase and transaction information from the App Store, an anonymous RevenueCat identifier created on your device, and basic app and device information. Pixel Arcadia does not give RevenueCat your name or email address.
Restore Purchases (in the Store and in Settings) restores Remove Ads on a new or reinstalled device. Coin packs, the Starter Pack and the Booster Pack are consumable: they are used up once granted and cannot be restored.
See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy and the Apple Privacy Policy.
7. Game Center
Pixel Arcadia supports Apple Game Center for an optional leaderboard (your campaign progress) and achievements (such as completing a world). Game Center is run by Apple, and you control it in your device’s Settings.
If you are signed in to Game Center:
- Apple provides the app with your Game Center display name and a player identifier. The app uses them on your device only, to show who is signed in and to remember which scores and achievements were already sent.
- The app sends your highest cleared level and earned achievements to Game Center.
Pixel Arcadia does not send your Game Center name or identifier to our analytics, advertising or purchase providers. Whether other players can see your scores depends on your Game Center settings. See Apple’s Game Center & Privacy page.
8. App updates
Pixel Arcadia uses Expo (EAS Update) to deliver small fixes without a full App Store update. When the app starts, it checks Expo’s servers for an update. The check includes:
- a random installation identifier
- the app’s version and update channel
- the platform
- your IP address, as with any internet request
See the Expo Privacy Policy.
9. Third-party services
These providers process information on our behalf or as independent providers, under their own privacy policies:
| Provider | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) | Ads, ad measurement, fraud prevention | Google Privacy Policy |
| PostHog | Anonymous gameplay analytics | PostHog Privacy Policy |
| RevenueCat | Purchase validation, Remove Ads status, restore | RevenueCat Privacy Policy |
| Apple (App Store, StoreKit, Game Center) | App distribution, payments, leaderboards and achievements | Apple Privacy Policy |
| Expo (EAS Update) | Delivering app updates | Expo Privacy Policy |
These providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, they use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, as described in their policies.
We do not sell your personal information. The app requests non-personalized ads, and we do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising.
10. Children’s privacy
Pixel Arcadia is a general-audience puzzle game. It is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
The app has no accounts, chat or ways for players to share personal information with each other, and it requests non-personalized ads.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. Data retention
- On your device: game data stays until you delete the app, or until it is replaced by a newer save.
- Analytics: events are kept in our PostHog project only as long as they help us operate and improve the game, and no longer than PostHog’s retention period for our plan. We may delete them sooner.
- Purchase records: kept by Apple and RevenueCat as needed to provide purchases, restores and refunds, and to meet legal and accounting obligations.
- Advertising, Game Center and update data: kept by Google, Apple and Expo under their own retention practices.
12. Your choices and controls
- Ads: rewarded ads are always optional. Purchasing Remove Ads turns off interstitial ads. Where required, use Settings → Ad Privacy Choices to revisit Google's ad consent form.
- Tracking: Pixel Arcadia does not request tracking permission. You can review tracking choices for all apps in your device’s Settings under Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Game Center: you can sign out of Game Center or change its privacy settings in your device’s Settings.
- Game data: deleting the app removes the game data stored on your device. Purchases can be restored afterwards, as described in section 6.
- Analytics and other requests: you can contact us to ask about or delete information (see sections 13 and 16). Analytics data is linked only to a random identifier, not to your name, so we may ask for details that help us find the right records. We may be unable to identify data that cannot be linked to you.
13. Regional privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information. For example:
- in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland (GDPR)
- in California and other U.S. states with privacy laws
These rights can include the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you, and receive a copy
- correct inaccurate information
- delete your information
- object to or restrict certain processing, including processing based on our legitimate interests
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- opt out of the sale of personal information, or its sharing for targeted advertising, where the law provides that right. We do not sell personal information.
- not be discriminated against for exercising your rights
Pixel Arcadia does not have an in-app tool for these requests. To make one, contact us. We will respond within the time required by applicable law, and we may need to verify your request.
For information held by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, PostHog or Expo under their own policies, you can also contact them directly. If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
14. Security
Pixel Arcadia stores game data in the app’s private storage on your device, protected by iOS. Our service providers transmit information over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. We choose providers that maintain appropriate security practices, and we limit what the app sends to what is needed. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect the information the app handles.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or the law changes. We will change the “Last updated” date above. If the changes are significant, we will give additional notice, for example in the app or on the App Store listing.
